SPECIAL EDUCATION / ORTON GILLINGHAM DIFFERENTIATION

Enrichment program to build reading, writing, and math foundational skills for students struggling with their general curriculum. We use Orton-Gillingham’s program to initially support your child’s journey of learning to read - and then leveling them up to reading to learn by focusing on comprehension skills as well as tackling more complex spelling and writing skills. Our program also helps students develop stronger executive functioning.

EXECUTIVE FUNCTIONING

A unique workshop series to introduce students to activities and exercises curated for improving planning, goal setting, time management, organization, resisting distractions and cultivating perseverance. Executive Function Enrichment is applicable to students of all backgrounds who could improve their organizational skills (not just students with special education needs).

OUR PARENTS ARE SAYING

"When our 5th grade daughter needed extra help in Math, she was reluctant to meet with a tutor, but our own efforts to help her were fraught with tension and often ended in tears. Our daughter enjoyed working with Victoria immediately, and looked forward to their lessons each week. Her grades improved, but most importantly, her confidence in Math soared and remains one of her strongest subjects in High School now."

Parent: Brooke H.

"Victoria’s sessions leave all three of my daughters feeling more confident and engaged in their learning. Her steady guidance has been a valuable resource for our family, and we’re grateful for her expertise and support."

FAQ

  • Students range from as early as Kindergarten through 8th grade! Our main focus is K-6!

  • Days and times are decided with the parent and Monday - Sunday are available.

  • Our social mission for this tutoring program includes a sliding door scale that is designed to be flexible and affordable for families with varying financial resources. "Sliding scale" means the cost of tutoring services is adjusted based on each client/family’s disposable income - the goal is to have families with an abundance of financial resources pay a slightly-higher rate, which enables us to make this high-quality tutoring program accessible to students and families that would otherwise struggle to afford full-cost. This allows us to support an education system that provides back to its community, and help foster equitable access to rich/high quality education.

  • For K-2nd Grade: Sessions are typically 45 minutes. However, this can change after working with a child.

For 3rd Grade +: Sessions are typically 1 hour.

Double sessions are possible at a parents’ request based on a knowledge of a student’s needs.
